A Safe Load Indicator (SLI), also known as a Rated Capacity Indicator (RCI) or Load Moment Indicator (LMI), is a safety device used in cranes and lifting equipment to monitor and prevent overloading conditions during lifting operations. The system continuously measures the load weight, boom angle, radius, and lifting capacity, and alerts the operator if the load exceeds the crane’s safe working limits.
